 Quantum Performance Engineering Ltd. was founded in 2003 by Ben Leach and Jonathan Saunders. The company specialises and has a large amount of experience in fitting and programming after-market engine management systems to all engine types. However, it is most famous for its work with the VAG 1.8t 20v engine. The introduction of their 'Plug and Play' engine management conversion kit for the 1.8T range of engines in 2004 marked the beginning of a new era in road vehicle tuning and has since allowed many people with the opportunity to complete this engine conversion with minimum cost and hassle.Jonathan SaundersJon has a MEng Degree from Brunel University and has many years experience in the field of automotive powertrain design and calibration. He has spent time at Lotus Engineering, Magnetti Marrelli Motorsport and Nippon Denso which has allowed him to develop a broad knowledge of modern production and motorsport engine management systems. He has also worked for Maxsym Engine Technology Ltd., where he was responsible for mapping the ECU of the Radical SR3 turbo, which currently holds the outright lap record at the Nurburgring by a margin of over 8 seconds. Ben LeachBen may be familiar to many people involved in the UK VW scene. A diehard VW enthusiast, his interest and experience in tuning the marque spans the last decade, during which time he has built many quick and innovative road cars. He is most famous for his red G60 turbo and 1.8T Syncro street sleeper Mk1's and for pleasing crowds and winning sprints at various VW meets around the UK. Ben has PhD in Combustion Engines and has worked at TVR in the UK and in the Engine Development Department at Volkswagen in Wolfsburg.
