Page 1 of 17 Do you want to fit a 2.0 TFSI engine to your Mk1, 2 or 3 Golf or Corrado? Do you have the ability to fit and plumb the engine but are put off by the complexities and pitfalls of installing the engine management and system? If so the QPEng 'Plug and Play OEM ' EMS kit could be the solution you have been looking for.
In all modern vehicles the EMS is highly integrated in to the rest of the vehicle and the TFSI unit is no exception. In addition, its Euro 4 emissions level means it has many emission control functions and their associated diagnostic features that are not necessary or desirable on a converted vehicle. In these situations our normal route would be to remove the original controller and fit a standalone unit that is better suited to the job. However, since there are no reasonably priced aftermarket solutions that can support the Gasoline Direct Injection system found on the TFSI engine we chose to develop new software for the original VAG control unit to meet our needs. The QPEng ‘Plug and Play OEM’ system for the 2.0 TFSI engine uses our own software within the original VAG controller to allow it to run correctly without all the other vehicle systems in place while retaining all the required functionality and significantly increasing performance. In addition, the system retains full fault finding, logging and coding functionality and is fully compatible with VAG-com and other diagnostic tools (including main dealer VAS tools). In addition, you won’t get any rouge fault codes (e.g. from missing components) but genuine fault codes will be diagnosed and stored as normal. As you would expect, the harness is also re-engineered to provide total ‘Plug and Play’ integration with project vehicle including full dash functionality (tacho and temp gauge), along with OEM levels of look and fit.
